Upgrade your cooling system with our custom-designed shroud for the Cold Case GPF18 or CHC557 radiator, that delivers measurably better cooling efficiency than the standard Cold Case shroud design. Through optimized fan sizing and precision-engineered airflow channels, this shroud maximizes the contact between your fan and radiator surface—ensuring every CFM of airflow does its job.
While the standard Cold Case shroud is a solid choice, our design takes cooling performance to the next level—ideal for high-performance builds, hot climates, or anyone who demands the absolute best from their cooling system.

- Fan relay and wiring harness (if not already installed)
- Make sure each relay is rated for 30 to 40 amps. Manufacturers include Spal, Painless Performance, Derale, Ron Davis, and American Autowire. (I personally have the Painless Performance kit, with 195 on, 185 off)
- Adjustable thermostat switch (recommended for automatic operation) typically included with most Fan Relay harnesses.

Note: This is an aftermarket shroud designed to work with the Cold Case GPF18 and CHC557 radiator. It is not manufactured by Cold Case Radiators. Fans and installation accessories sold separately. Lead time for Raw Aluminum is around one week. If Powder Coated is out of stock, please order, as we do not replace stock without an existing order, lead time is two weeks.

I ordered Fast Monty’s shroud for my 1976 Trans Am with 455 and about 600 hp and tq. I was previously using the Cold Case radiator with their twin 12-inch fans. The car never seemed to cool down enough. The rad is great and I am still using it, but with twin 14-inch Spals and Fast Monty’s shroud. It was only 75 degrees F here when I tested it, but the difference from my Cold Case twin 12-inch fans is huge. Very noticeable and very significant. Once we hit the higher temperatures, I am sure the car will still run significantly cooler than in the past. Today the fans were off for most of my test – that never happened before. At idle the fans eventually go on, but the car cools quick and the fans go off.

I purchased the fan shroud from Mike (Fast Monty) for my 1970 trans am that I was having cooling Issues with. The Maradyne fans mounted up perfectly and Mike answered all my dumb questions quickly and without compliant. His product is top notch and fixed my cooling issues completely.Would highly recommend Fast Monty!!!
Just got done upgrading the cooling system on my 1973 Firebird 400 and I gotta say this Fast Monty’s 70-81 Firebird shroud is the REAL DEAL. The fitment with my Cold Case radiator was excellent and the sealing is insanely good. You can tell a lot of thought went into airflow and keeping air pulled THROUGH the radiator instead of around it.
I paired it with dual 14” SPAL fans like he recommends in his videos and this setup is an absolute beast. Cruising on the freeway the temps barely move, and in parking lots or stop-and-go traffic the fans kick on and pull temps right back down fast. Honestly behaves more like a modern performance car now. Keeping the temps down around 165-175!!!!
Before this setup I was always worried about temps creeping up. Now the cooling system feels completely under control. Highly recommend this shroud if you’re serious about cooling your second gen Firebird correctly!!!!!!! -sean
Shroud was easy to install, looks great and along with my new Proform fans seems to have solved my heating up issue!
