1970–1981 Pontiac Firebird 14-Inch SPAL Brushless Fan Shroud | Cold Case GPF18 or CHC557

Build your second-generation Firebird's dual 14-inch SPAL brushless fan setup around a shroud custom-contoured to the Cold Case radiator. The design overlaps the side tanks to accommodate the listed fans, with flap doors that allow air to pass through at road speed. It also fits the Cold Case CHC557 LS-conversion radiator used in second-generation GM F-Body applications.

Important clearance warning: This shroud may not fit with a stock steering box. Double-check clearance before ordering.

Vehicle & Radiator Fitment

• Firebird: 1970–1981 Pontiac Firebird with Cold Case GPF18, GPF18A, GPF18B, GPF18AB, or GPF18K radiator.
• LS conversions: Cold Case CHC557 radiator used in second-generation GM F-Body applications.
• Camaro owners: for the standard Gen II Camaro radiator application, see the separate Camaro listing. That radiator is slightly narrower.

Construction & Finish Options

• Precision CNC-cut aircraft-grade aluminum, made in the USA.
• Available in raw bolted, raw welded, or welded and powder coated versions.
• Raw aluminum has witness marks that can be cleaned with Scotch Brite or a Magic Eraser.

Installation Hardware & Accessories

Fans and installation accessories are not included.

• Fan mounting hardware: M6x1 fasteners, 32mm long.
• Bolted version: eight additional M6x1 fasteners, 10mm long.
• Flap doors: two SPAL 30130012 rubber flap doors. Buy here
• Brushless fan controller, optional.
• Fan relay and wiring harness, if not already installed. Each relay should be rated for 30–50 amps depending on the fan selected. Follow the selected fan's wiring instructions.

Relay and harness manufacturers include SPAL, Painless Performance, Derale, Ron Davis, and American Autowire. Monty's personal Painless Performance setup uses 195°F on and 185°F off.

• Raw aluminum: approximately one week.

This is an aftermarket shroud designed for the Cold Case GPF18 and CHC557 radiators. It is not manufactured by Cold Case Radiators.
